Saudi Arabia Introduces Comprehensive Labour Law Amendments
On August 6, 2024, the KSA Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that the Cabinet has approved key amendments to the Labour Law and its Implementing Regulations, set to be effective 180 days from their publication. These changes aim to modernize the labour market by enhancing worker rights, clarifying resignation procedures, and updating wage and accommodation regulations. The amendments also introduce new definitions, extend maternity leave, and modify notice periods, reflecting a significant overhaul designed to improve employment practices and protections in Saudi Arabia.
