UAE Enforces Tougher Labour Laws to Safeguard Vulnerable Workers
In a decisive move to protect vulnerable workers, the UAE has enacted a stringent Federal Decree-Law amending specific provisions of the UAE Labour Laws. In particular, The Federal-Decree Law imposes fines ranging from Dh100,000 to Dh1 million on companies who commit certain legal violations. This includes hiring workers without valid permits, exploiting visit visas, and failing to provide promised employment. The new regulations are designed to address the serious issue of workers being lured to the UAE with false promises, only to be abandoned without jobs or resources. Legal experts and social workers have praised the initiative, highlighting its significance in strengthening the UAE's employment system and ensuring the protection of workers.
